This Privacy Policy explains how Warn Live collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, apps, maps, forecasts, alerts, and related services (the “Services”).

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information, such as your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
• Settings you save, including a home location, location name, map defaults, theme, alert radius, and notification preferences.
• If you continue without an email account, a pseudonymous guest identifier used to keep this device's settings and notification subscription separate from other users.
• Messages or requests you send to us.

Information collected when you use the Services

• Approximate location derived from your IP address so we can show locally relevant weather when you have not selected a location.
• A location you search for, select, or save. A saved home location may include precise latitude and longitude.
• Device, browser, network, request, and diagnostic information typically recorded in service logs, such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested pages.
• If you enable notifications, your browser push endpoint and encryption keys or native app device token, notification permission and subscription status, and records needed to prevent duplicate deliveries.
• Cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies needed to keep you signed in, remember settings, maintain security, and operate the Services.
• Security-check results processed by Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated account and guest-registration abuse.

How we use information

• Provide, personalize, maintain, and secure the Services.
• Authenticate users and manage accounts and saved preferences.
• Show weather, forecasts, alerts, and maps relevant to a selected or saved location.
• Send weather and safety notifications you choose to enable.
• Diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and improve performance and reliability.
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

How we share information

We may share information with infrastructure, authentication, hosting, mapping, notification-delivery, and other service providers that process it for us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the Services, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.

Weather and map data may come from government agencies and other third-party providers. Your use of features supplied by those providers may also be subject to their terms and privacy practices.

Your choices

• You can use weather alerts without providing a name or email. Guest setups cannot be restored after app data is cleared unless you later protect them with an account.
• You can change saved locations, preferences, and alert radius in your account.
• You can disable notifications in Warn Live and in your browser or device settings.
• You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by emailing [email protected]. Some information may be retained where required for security, legal compliance, or legitimate operational needs.

Data retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain security and records, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

International use

Your information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate protection for transferred information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or applicable requirements change. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services when appropriate.
